Summary
You may have already heard that Microsoft is to end support for Windows 10 on the 14th of October 2025.
After this date, systems with Windows 10 installed will no longer receive security updates, non-security updates, bug fixes, technical support, or online technical content updates.
It’s critical that these systems are either upgraded or replaced, well in advance of the 14th of October 2025.
It’s also worth noting that running “in support” operating systems and software is a requirement of certain insurance policies, tender requirements, regulated industries and recent new regulations such as DORA and NIS2.

What does end of support mean?
When Windows 10 reaches end of support on the 14th of October 2025, your device will still function, but Microsoft will no longer provide the following:
- Technical support for any issues
- Software updates
- Security updates of fixes
While you could continue to use your device, without continued software and security updates, it will be at greater risk of virus and malware infection. This is particularly risky in a network business environment for machines running Windows 10.
